ASML US brings together the most creative minds in science and technology to develop lithography machines that are key to producing faster, cheaper, more energy-efficient microchips. The individual will gain experience in system design and software development supporting the Global Technical Support Team for sustaining of existing products, working under the guidance of senior engineers. The individual will work on projects supporting the current LabVIEW software tools and create new software. The individual will gain experience working on complex Deep Ultraviolet Laser Systems that are used in semiconductor chip manufacturing.
This position requires access to controlled technology, as defined in the Export Administration Regulations (15 C.F.R. § 730, et seq.). Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access such controlled technology prior to beginning work. Business demands may require ASML to proceed with candidates who are immediately eligible to access controlled technology.
Role and responsibilities
Serves as an entry level specialist who applies, analyzes and interprets a variety of standard theories, concepts, methods, and techniques to a limited range of issues within a single technical area using imaginative as well as practical solutions.
• Create, modify Debug and maintain LabVIEW applications in Windows and Linux environments.
• Design, implement, and debug software components according to industrystandards and procedures.
• Follow best practices for software development, archiving, and version control.
• Document software, including requirements, design, code, user manuals.
• Gain experience with processes associated with working in cross functional environment.
• Research and evaluate new software and hardware technologies for potential integration into products.
• Work as a collaborative team member on engineering projects.
Education and experience
• BS or above with degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Science, Masters preferred or equivalent experience.
• LabVIEW experience during academic and/or working career.
• LabVIEW Certification, Associate or Developer (preferred).
• Exposure to LabVIEW FPGA, and LabVIEW Real-Time software is a plus.
• MATLAB, C/C++, Python.
• Experience with real-time data acquisition and instrument control.
• Exposure to Linux based Hardware.
• Exposure to various communication buses and protocols Serial, Ethernet, SPI etc.
• Basic software and User Interface design knowledge (samples may be requested).
• Understanding of Object Oriented Programming and data analysis.
• Familiarity with standard diagnostic equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, Protocol analyzers).
• Expertise in one or more of the following software packages: Excel, MS Project, Java, Visual Basic programming knowledge is desired.
• Must have a combination of and/or significant strengths in electronics and software.
• System performance related data analysis, system troubleshooting, and applied technical problem solving skills are essential.

Responsibilities:

The California base annual salary/hourly range for this role is currently $90,000 – $150,000. Pay scales are determined by role, level, location and alignment with market data. Individual pay is determined through interviews and an assessment of several factors that that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, job-related skills, relevant education and experience, certifications, abilities of the candidate and pay relative to other team members.
