Aeris Technologies Inc. is seeking a Test Automation Engineer to join our team in Hayward, CA.
As a Test Automation Engineer at Aeris, you will play a major role improving the test bench software involved in the production of Aeris’s state-of-the-art laser-based gas analyzers. We are seeking self-motivated candidates that possess suitable skills, including expertise in National Instrument’s LabVIEW software, as well as excellent organizational and communication skills. The new hire will eventually become familiar with all the steps required to assemble and test the gas analyzers in order to improve the software used during their production.
Job Responsibilities:
• Improve existing LabVIEW Virtual Instruments and write new software to support the manufacturing and testing of new gas analyzers
• Lead the effort to automate and streamline the production of gas analyzers
• Assembly and testing of instruments and associated components including optical, electrical, and mechanical sub-assemblies
• Contribute to Standard Operating Procedures
• Assist in revision of assembly procedure documents to improve processes
• Contribute to the set-up, execution, and data capture for research and development experiments
Education and experience:
• Bachelors, Associates degree or certificate in related technical fields (preferably engineering, science, instrumentation and/or optical technology)
• Two years of applicable LabVIEW experience
• Ability to handle sensitive electronic components, including use of multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other electronic test equipment
• Ability to work safely with compressed gas tanks and related equipment
• Excellent written and verbal communication allowing to collaborate effectively and write procedures and reports
• Proactive, organized, self-motivated, requiring minimal supervision after initial training
• Familiarity with databases and SQL preferred
• Good soldering, wiring and assembly skills
• Familiarity with Linux and embedded programming environment preferred
• Familiar and comfortable with safe use of hand tools and small power tools
