Responsibilities
• Develop test automation applications in LabVIEW interfacing with National Instrument’s hardware.
• Develop data acquisition and analysis applications.
• Work closely with the engineering project teams to ensure test equipment designs align with the software and hardware requirements.
• Identify, source and integrate off-the-shelf solutions and design custom interfaces.
• Understand how to read electrical schematics and use manufacturers’ product data sheets.
• Direct activities of prototype build lab personnel to fabricate the STE.
• Ability to utilize standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators and power meters.
• Ability to use instrumentation such as thermocouples, RTDs, strain gauges, accelerometers, hygrometers, pressure gauges, and flow meters.
• Support technical root cause analysis and resolution of issues found during testing.
• Participate in design reviews, requirement reviews, DFMEAs, PFMEAs and Hazard Analyses.
• Ability to use MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio

Qualifications
• B.S. in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years LabVIEW programming experience. CLA or CLD certification a plus.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience designing automated electronic test equipment.
• Familiarity with modular test instruments and National Instruments I/O Systems (PXI, cDAQ).
• Experience testing automotive communication protocols (CAN, LIN).
• Knowledge of and experience with computer hardware, communication, and bus protocols (RS232, CAN, GPIB, Ethernet, USB).
• High level of interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced development environment.
• Self-motivated: Demonstrated ability to set direction and guide the team towards it.
• Hands-on approach: Proactively identifies and fills in gaps where needed
• Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California Based Applicants: $150,000.00 – $173,000.00 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
• Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment, and Rivian covers most of the premiums.
